Pure soap-operas, with betrayals, evil twins and drama queens returning from the dead… but without the sparkling dresses and blow-dries you’re used to in the US.

You want escapism? « Doctor Who » is an alien who travels through time and space in a phone box! 

Otherwise if you don’t want to leave planet Earth, England in itself has such stunning landscapes to offer! In the series « Broadchurch », you’ll discover the gorgeous cliffs and charms of a lovely village in Dorset… well, « lovely » to a point : be aware that it is a very dark detective series! 

The exact oppposite may be said about « The Office » : a sitcom set in the most depressing scenery you could choose… a simple paper company! But you’ll find all the absurdity, sarcasm and irony you could expect from such a place! The perfect scenario to make you cringe. And how British is that?!
